Hi,
Just wondering if anyone came up with a process for updating all their patient's problem lists in their EMR prior to October 1, 2015.
This is our thought...our certified lead coder is going in each problem list, converting the codes and adding it to the bottom of the list. She will ask the provider when necessary for diagnosis coding accuracy. This will then show all the ICD-9 codes and ICD-10 codes under those in the EMR. If the providers choose to add them as a current diagnosis for that visit, they need to make sure to choose the correct one based on the date of the visit. This would help the providers with coding specificity.
Please let me know, just trying to get ahead of the ball game as much as possible.
